Climbing Mount Everest is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement, attracting around 1,000 summit attempts every year from both the southern route in Nepal and the northern route in Tibet. Since the iconic first ascent by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953 via the South Col, Everest has been a beacon for adventurers worldwide. After Tibet’s borders closed following the Cultural Revolution, climbers increasingly favored the southern route through Nepal’s Khumbu Valley.

The allure of scaling the world’s highest peak is undeniable, but Everest presents extreme challenges, including high altitudes, unpredictable weather, and sheer physical exhaustion. Our expedition programs are designed with safety as the top priority, addressing the many obstacles climbers face.

Interestingly, while the Himalayas—including Everest—are the tallest mountains on Earth, they are geologically younger than older ranges like the Andes and Alps. Everest’s mystique dates back to the 1920s when George Mallory famously justified his desire to climb it with the phrase, “Because it is there.” Although Mallory and his partner Andrew Irvine disappeared during their 1924 attempt, modern climbers benefit from advanced planning, skilled guides, and a strong team spirit. With determination, patience, and proper preparation, today’s climbers can turn their Everest dreams into reality.

Detail Itenerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport (KTM), our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, visit our office to meet your trekking guide, finalize trip preparations, and connect with fellow participants. In the evening, enjoy a “Welcome Dinner” featuring authentic Nepalese cuisine and cultural performances, marking the start of your adventure.

Day 02-03: Explore Kathmandu & Preparations
These days combine sightseeing and essential preparations. While the expedition leader attends a Ministry of Tourism briefing, participants explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. Final equipment checks and briefings ensure everyone is ready for the journey ahead.

Day 04: Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding (2,840m/9,315ft)
Begin your adventure with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by an easy trek to Phakding. Along the way, take in the charming village life and mountain views as you adjust to the Himalayan landscape.

Day 05: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,450m/11,319ft)
Follow the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges before entering the Khumbu National Park. After a steep ascent, arrive at Namche Bazaar, the bustling hub of the Everest region.

Day 06: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Rest and adjust to the altitude with a day hike to Thame or Khunde. Explore Namche Bazaar’s vibrant market, bakeries, and shops. Visit the Sagarmatha National Park Visitor Center for insights into Sherpa culture and Everest’s history.

Day 07: Trek to Thyangboche (3,867m/12,687ft)
Follow the trail high above the Dudh Koshi, enjoying your first clear views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. Arrive at Thyangboche, home to an iconic monastery surrounded by breathtaking mountain vistas.

Day 08: Trek to Dingboche (4,360m/14,300ft)
Pass through Pangboche, enjoying close-up views of Ama Dablam, and continue up the Imja Valley to Dingboche, a picturesque farming village.

Day 09-13: Acclimatization in Dingboche
Spend several days acclimatizing with daily hikes to nearby hills and a possible visit to the Himalayan Rescue Association in Pheriche. These activities prepare the team for higher altitudes.

Day 14: Trek to Lobuche (4,940m/16,207ft)
Ascend past Dugla and the Khumbu Glacier moraine to reach Lobuche, a key stop en route to Everest Base Camp.

Day 15: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft)
Trek to Gorak Shep and then continue to Everest Base Camp, your home for the next six weeks, at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall.

Day 16-18: Rest and Preparation at Base Camp

Day 19-64: Ascent of Mount Everest
Over the next several weeks, the team will ascend Everest, tackling its challenges with rotations to higher camps and acclimatization climbs, culminating in the summit attempt.

Day 65: Return to Base Camp
Regroup at Base Camp, pack equipment, and clean the area as part of the team’s commitment to responsible mountaineering.

Day 66-68: Trek Back to Namche Bazaar via Dingboche and Thyangboche
Retrace your steps, enjoying the descent through the Khumbu region’s stunning landscapes.

Day 69: Trek to Lukla
Complete the trek with a final walk back to Lukla, reflecting on your incredible journey.

Day 70: Fly to Kathmandu
Return to Kathmandu and celebrate the expedition’s success with a farewell barbecue hosted by Crystal Himalaya Travel, honoring the teamwork and camaraderie shared.

Day 71: Departure
Conclude your adventure as you bid farewell to Nepal, flying back home with unforgettable memories of Mount Everest.
