Langtang Ganjala Pass Trekking

16 Days

The Ganja La Pass, towering at 5,106 meters, is one of Nepal’s most demanding mountain passes. Our Langtang trek includes traversing this challenging pass, beginning from Langtang village (3,500m) and heading south towards Tarke Gyang in Helambu. The route from Kyanjin Gompa to Tarke Gyang involves crossing the formidable Ganja La, which is often snow-covered. Safe passage requires careful planning, local guidance, proper gear, and mountaineering expertise.

After descending from the pass, you’ll arrive in Helambu village, where a distinct Tibetan influence is evident in the stone-walled fields and grazing yak herds, vital to the local lifestyle. The trek then descends to Melamchi Khola, followed by a climb to Pati Bhanjyang, and culminates with a final stretch to Sundarijal. A drive from Sundarijal brings you back to Kathmandu, concluding an adventurous trek through challenging landscapes and culturally rich areas of the Langtang region.
