Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a refreshing welcome drink and a brief orientation to prepare for the exciting journey ahead. Take the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize to the vibrant city.
Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour
Your first day of exploration takes you through Kathmandu’s rich cultural heritage. Visit iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Bauddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. A knowledgeable guide will accompany you throughout, offering insights into Nepal’s history and traditions. Return to your hotel for a restful evening.
Day 3: Travel from Kathmandu to Pokhara (6-7 hours by tourist bus)
Start the day with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Onboard an air-conditioned tourist bus, enjoy the picturesque landscapes along the Trisuli River. Upon arrival in Pokhara, spend the rest of the day visiting some of its natural wonders, and then relax in the serene atmosphere of this beautiful lakeside city.
Day 4: Pokhara to Jomsom (flight) & Trek to Kagbeni (2800m)
In the early morning, take a short flight to Jomsom. After breakfast, embark on a scenic horseback journey along the banks of the Kali Gandaki River, heading toward Eklebatti. After a well-deserved lunch, trek for another hour to reach Kagbeni. Explore the ancient red-painted Gompa (monastery), and immerse yourself in the village’s 1000-year-old history. Overnight in Kagbeni.
Day 5: Kagbeni to Tsaile (3100m) – 5-6 hours of trekking
Start the day by registering your Restricted Area Permit and begin your trek along the Kali Gandaki River. Pass through charming villages like Tangbe and Chhusang, and marvel at the spectacular Mani walls and Chhörtens. After crossing a rock tunnel with caves above, ascend steeply to reach Tsaile, where you’ll be greeted with stunning views of the Nilgiri Himal. Overnight at a lodge in Tsaile.
Day 6: Tsaile to Ghiling (3570m) – 6-7 hours of trekking
The journey today takes you through an unpredictable trail, rising to a small plateau, then descending towards Samar village. Enjoy a lunch break before continuing past the Chungsi Cave Monastery, an important pilgrimage site. The path leads you through Syangmochen village and eventually to Ghiling, with its beautiful red-painted Gompas and a large Chhörten. Overnight in Ghiling.
Day 7: Ghiling to Tsarang (3560m) – 6-7 hours of trekking
Your trek today brings you to the heart of the Mustang region, passing through Zaite village and ascending to Nyi-La Pass. From there, enjoy spectacular views before descending to Ghami. After lunch, follow a trail adorned with the longest Mani Wall in the region, then continue to Tsarang, where you’ll visit the Tsarang Gompa and Old Palace. Overnight in Tsarang.
Day 8: Tsarang to Lo-Manthang (3840m) – 4-5 hours of trekking
Today’s trek is a relatively short but rewarding hike. Begin with a descent and cross Tsarang River, before ascending to the Lo-La Pass, which offers stunning panoramic views of Lo-Manthang. After a short descent, the trail climbs again, leading you into the walled city of Lo-Manthang. Explore its unique monasteries and experience its mystical charm. Overnight in Lo-Manthang.
Day 9: Rest and Acclimatization Day in Lo-Manthang
Take this day to acclimatize and explore the hidden treasures of the forbidden kingdom. Choose between a full-day trek to Chhoser Village with its caves and monasteries, or a shorter visit to Namgyal Monastery. Either way, you’ll have the chance to delve deeper into the region’s culture and history. Spend the night in Lo-Manthang.
Day 10: Lo-Manthang to Yara (3900m) – 6-7 hours of trekking
Start your day with a gentle climb to Day-La for a final panoramic view of Lo-Manthang. Continue to Dhi village, then cross a small stream before making a short ascent to Yara village. The trek offers captivating views of the region’s distinctive caves carved into the cliffs. Overnight in Yara.
Day 11: Acclimatization and Luri Gompa Excursion
Today, embark on an excursion to the ancient Luri Cave Monastery, a sacred site perched at 4005m. The monastery, built in the 15th century, is renowned for its rich spiritual history and breathtaking location. Afterward, return to Yara for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Yara to Tangya (3240m) – 6-7 hours of trekking
Today’s trek is challenging, with steep ascents and descents. Begin with a short climb followed by a long flat stretch. Continue through rocky terrain and cross the Dechhyang Khola stream. After lunch, tackle a final steep ascent to reach Tangya, a village surrounded by giant Chhörtens and striking landscapes. Overnight in Tangya.
Day 13: Tangya to Chhusang (2980m) – 8-9 hours of trekking
A long but rewarding day, as you start with a steep climb to a small pass, followed by a descent to Pha. After lunch, the trail continues with many more ups and downs before reaching Chhusang. Here, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Nilgiri Himal, Tukuche Peak, and other majestic mountains. Overnight in Chhusang.
Day 14: Chhusang to Jomsom (2720m) – 5-6 hours of trekking
Retrace your steps back to Jomsom, passing through familiar landmarks. After a stop in Kagbeni for lunch, continue on to Jomsom, where you’ll have time to relax and reflect on the incredible journey. Overnight in Jomsom.
Day 15: Jomsom to Pokhara (flight) & Sightseeing
Fly from Jomsom back to Pokhara, and enjoy a relaxing day in this peaceful lakeside town. Spend the afternoon sightseeing or simply unwind by the lake. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 16: Pokhara to Kathmandu (6-7 hours by tourist bus)
After breakfast, take the scenic drive back to Kathmandu, where you’ll have some free time to explore or shop before your departure. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 17: Departure
After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to the international airport for your onward journey.
