Mt. Everest Expedition

65 Days

Climbing Mount Everest is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement, attracting around 1,000 summit attempts every year from both the southern route in Nepal and the northern route in Tibet. Since the iconic first ascent by Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953 via the South Col, Everest has been a beacon for adventurers worldwide. After Tibet’s borders closed following the Cultural Revolution, climbers increasingly favored the southern route through Nepal’s Khumbu Valley.

The allure of scaling the world’s highest peak is undeniable, but Everest presents extreme challenges, including high altitudes, unpredictable weather, and sheer physical exhaustion. Our expedition programs are designed with safety as the top priority, addressing the many obstacles climbers face.

Interestingly, while the Himalayas—including Everest—are the tallest mountains on Earth, they are geologically younger than older ranges like the Andes and Alps. Everest’s mystique dates back to the 1920s when George Mallory famously justified his desire to climb it with the phrase, “Because it is there.” Although Mallory and his partner Andrew Irvine disappeared during their 1924 attempt, modern climbers benefit from advanced planning, skilled guides, and a strong team spirit. With determination, patience, and proper preparation, today’s climbers can turn their Everest dreams into reality.
