Lobuche East Peak Climbing

21 Days

Lobuche East Peak, located in Nepal’s iconic Everest region, is a striking and sought-after mountain for climbers and adventurers alike. Towering above the village of Lobuche and near the base of Mount Everest, it features two distinct summits: Lobuche East (6,119m) and Lobuche West (6,145m), connected by a 1.8-kilometer Southeast-Northwest ridge. While Lobuche East is classified as a trekking peak, making it more accessible, Lobuche West offers a greater technical challenge, drawing experienced climbers seeking a rewarding expedition.

The ascent of Lobuche East begins in Lobuche village and follows a route via the South Shoulder and South Ridge. Both summits boast an elegant three-ridged pyramid structure, captivating trekkers and climbers alike. The peaks are particularly striking along the Everest Base Camp trail, commanding attention as you approach Lobuche village at the base of the Southeast Shoulder.

The South and Southeast Ridges form a unique rock triangle that extends to the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. This distinctive feature, easily visible along the trek, is especially prominent from the hill adorned with stone memorials, adding a poignant touch to the dramatic Himalayan scenery.
