Mt. Annapurna Expedition

56 Days

Annapurna, a stunning peak in western Nepal, is home to Annapurna I, towering at 8,091 meters. This majestic mountain is surrounded by thirteen peaks above 7,000 meters and sixteen exceeding 6,000 meters. Ranking as the tenth highest mountain globally among the 8,000-meter giants, Annapurna I lies east of the Kali Gandaki canyon, standing distinct from the Dhaulagiri massif. Its name, “Annapurna,” derived from Sanskrit, translates to “Goddess of Abundance,” symbolizing nourishment and prosperity.

The first ascent of Annapurna I was made in 1950 by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal, marking a historic achievement in mountaineering. Today, Crystal Himalaya Travel offers a 60-day Annapurna Expedition, guiding adventurers through breathtaking views of the Annapurna range, which includes Annapurna II, III, IV, Varaha Shikhar, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, Tukche Peak, and the Dhaulagiri massif.

The expedition season runs from October to May, leading participants through the Kaligandaki Valley. Highlights include natural hot springs, the dramatic Dhaulagiri icefall, and cultural insights into the Thakali people’s way of life. The journey is set against the awe-inspiring backdrops of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, offering an unforgettable adventure into the heart of the Himalayas.
