Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), a warm welcome awaits you from our representative. After completing your customs formalities, including visa collection and baggage claim, look for our representative holding a display board with “Crystal Himalaya Travel and Trek.” From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can freshen up and relax. Later in the evening, you’ll meet your trekking guide and fellow participants at our office. To conclude the day, enjoy a “Welcome Dinner” at an excellent Nepalese restaurant featuring cultural performances and traditional cuisine.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing & Preparation for the Climb
Spend the day exploring Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Patan Durbar Square. After the sightseeing tour, finalize any necessary preparations for your climb. You will also receive a comprehensive briefing on the expedition, equipment requirements, and team arrangements. This is the ideal time for last-minute shopping for personal items before flying to the Himalayas.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft)
After an early breakfast, head to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu Airport for a scenic 40-minute flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). Upon landing at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, renowned for its dramatic hillside runway, meet your trekking crew and begin the trek to Phakding. Passing vibrant villages and stunning landscapes, we arrive at Phakding, where we stay overnight. Optional: Take a side trip to a nearby monastery.
Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280ft)
The trail ascends through a pine forest along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge. Pass charming settlements like Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo before entering Sagarmatha National Park. The final ascent, with breathtaking views of Mt. Everest from Chautara, leads us to Namche Bazaar, the bustling gateway to the Everest region.
Day 05: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,284ft)
To aid acclimatization, explore Namche Bazaar or opt for a hike to Khumjung or Thame. Visit the Tourist Visitor Center to learn about Sherpa culture and the region’s flora and fauna. Alternatively, climb to the Everest View Hotel for panoramic views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other peaks. Return to Namche for the evening.
Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft)
Trek through a scenic trail offering mesmerizing views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. Descend to the Dudh Koshi River before a steep ascent through pine forests to Tengboche. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region, and enjoy spectacular mountain views.
Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360m/14,300ft)
Begin with a gradual descent through lush forests before following the upper trail to Pangboche village. Pass Chortens, Mani walls, and small villages while enjoying views of Ama Dablam. After lunch, the trail leads through the Imja Valley to Dingboche, a picturesque village surrounded by stone-walled fields.
Day 08: Dingboche to Duglha (4,600m/15,090ft)
Follow the Khumbu Khola valley, passing yak herder settlements and the remnants of the first Everest expedition camp. The trail gradually ascends to Duglha, where you’ll enjoy stunning views of Cholatse, Thamserku, and Pumori. Rest here for the night to aid acclimatization.
Day 09: Duglha to Lobuche (4,940m/16,207ft)
Climb the steep ridge of Chupki Lhara, where memorials to fallen climbers are adorned with prayer flags. Descend to the Khumbu Glacier moraine and continue to Lobuche, with close-up views of Nuptse and other peaks. The altitude becomes noticeable as you settle into Lobuche for the night.
Day 10: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m/16,961ft) to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft) and back to Gorak Shep
Follow the moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to Gorak Shep, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. After a brief rest, trek to Everest Base Camp, marveling at the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding peaks. Return to Gorak Shep for the night.
Day 11: Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) to Lobuche (4,940m/16,207ft)
Wake early for a climb to Kala Patthar to witness a breathtaking sunrise over Mount Everest. The panoramic views of Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, and surrounding peaks are unforgettable. Descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then continue to Lobuche.
Day 12: Lobuche to Lobuche High Camp (5,400m/17,712ft)
Trek from Lobuche to Lobuche High Camp, passing through rocky moraine terrain with views of Ama Dablam, Pokalde, and Cholatse. After setting up camp, attend pre-climb training to practice using climbing gear like ice axes and ropes, ensuring you’re well-prepared for the summit.
Day 13: Summit Lobuche East (6,119m/20,070ft) and Return to High Camp
Begin the ascent at around 2 am, climbing with headlamps under the guidance of expert Sherpas. Upon reaching the summit, enjoy panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and more. After celebrating your achievement, descend carefully back to High Camp for rest.
Day 14: Contingency Day
This day is reserved for unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather or acclimatization challenges. If not needed, it allows for rest or an optional descent to Chhukung.
Day 15: Lobuche High Camp to Pangboche (3,930m/12,900ft)
Descend from Lobuche High Camp, rejoining the Everest Base Camp trail. Continue through picturesque landscapes to Pangboche, where you can visit the historic Pangboche Monastery.
Day 16: Pangboche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,280ft)
The trail descends rapidly, passing through forests and crossing suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Enjoy breathtaking views of Ama Dablam and Thamserku before arriving in Namche Bazaar for the night.
Day 17: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft)
Retrace your steps through rhododendron and pine forests, crossing suspension bridges and passing Sherpa villages. Reflect on your journey as you reach Lukla, where the trek concludes.
Day 18: Lukla to Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathmandu, enjoying the final aerial views of the Himalayas. Spend the day relaxing or exploring Thamel for souvenirs. In the evening, celebrate your successful adventure with a farewell dinner.
Day 19: Final Departure
A representative will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight. Depart with cherished memories and a sense of accomplishment, ready to plan your next adventure in Nepal.
